Greenwich Spank Time

The DVD of Young Harlots:Dirty Secrets (Harmony films, 2008), has a bonus feature in which one of the stars, Robyn Truelove, gets a bare bottom spanking. Unusually for this kind of porn it’s M/F, OTK and looks a reasonably serious affair. I don’t have the clip but if this still is anything to go by it should be worth tracking down. The main feature has some naughty SCHOOLGIRLS!! gate-crashing a croquet match which explains the whites that the guy is wearing.

The cover star, Susana Abril, is an adorable Spanish girl with more than a touch of Penelope Cruz about her. I stumbled across this thanks to a behind-the-scenes article written by Paul Smith who attended the film’s shoot on behalf of ETO magazine.

At one point, he was dispatched to meet Robyn Truelove after she was unable to find the right house – an historic property in Greenwich which belongs to a lady called Ann.

While sitting with Ann I learned the house had been built around 1715, gardening turns up bits of brass bomb casings dropped by the Luftwaffe and she moved here in 1957, when the house was a princely £4,500. With views across Greenwich Park (but I’m not saying which hemisphere it’s in) towards the Royal Observatory and more than enough bedrooms, I’d hate to take a stab at what’s it’s worth now. You could safely add two-and-a-half more zeros, I’m sure. Dempsey and Makepeace shot here in the mid 80s; four days which made back the purchase price of her home.

And it turns out Robyn Truelove wasn’t the first young lady to get a red bottom on these historic premises. Oh no, not by a long chalk! Look closely at the furniture and wallpaper. Seem familiar to any of you? I recognised it before reading this:

Ann soon produced a fat scrapbook of cuttings dating back to the 50s, all showing photographs taken at the house, even if it was sometimes hard to tell. “That one”, Ann told me, pointing at a lingerie advert from the late 60s I’d say, “That one was in Vogue.”

She flicked through some more pages and I saw ads for coal tar soap and Fortnum & Masons in amongst soft porn from the early 70s (the big orange hats are a giveaway) and lots of spanking. “Those are from a specialist magazine”, Ann explained. ” A family friend publishes it. It’s very exclusive”. I believed her.

Good to hear that even though the exclusive specialist magazine in question has now ceased publication, this leafy corner of South London still sometimes echoes to the unmistakable sound of badly behaved young ladies getting a good sound spanking!
